Holmsted Himalayas Bell Tent Site
Our Site and Facilities
Our tents are spread out across our hilltop site, with a ring of ancient woodland offering protection from the elements.
We have hot showers, flushing loos and a beautiful communal space at the heart of the site for socialising and relaxing. We've newly installed mains power to the site, which allows you to keep all your (and your children's!) electrical goods charged up, and powers the on-site fridge to ensure that bottle of prosecco remains at the perfect temperature (and your food!).
There's plenty of games on site, a table tennis table, giant jenga set, badminton net and loads of sports equipment for you and your children. As well as some indoor games for when the weather isn't so nice!
Please note, there are NO DOGS allowed at the site.
What's inside the tents?
We have 10 fully furnished bell tents here at the Himalayas, with nearly everything you need for a relaxing holiday without the need to bring anything.
Each tent contains the following:
1 double and 2 single Z beds (additional beds are available for an extra £25 per night)
All bedding - pillows, duvets and bed sheets
Two small side tables, with plants
Magnetic torch to light up your tent and aid your late night dash to the loos
Fire pit with fire lighters (logs are available from the farm)
Cosy rugs and fluffy mats
Things to do in the local area
Despite our rural location, the site is only a short drive for civilisation. For those looking to explore the local area, there's a whole host of things to do.
Nymans National Trust Property and Tea Room
The Village of Cuckfield (medieval village centre with pubs, cafes and boutiques)
Pubs and restaurants, including the new Heritage Restaurant in Slaugham, run by Great British Menu contestant Matt Gillan
The Bolney Wine Estate, producer of some of England's most sought-after wines, is also nearby. They offer guided tours, wine tasting and a cafe. Very popular with our campers!
Cuckfield Golf Centre and Driving Range is just down the road. It's a 9 hole pay and play course with a driving range. They've also recently opened The 180 Degrees Restaurant in the clubhouse with regular events and live music.
Wild Swimming at the Site
The Site is set amongst a sea of reed beds and ponds, all teaming with wildlife. The Swimming Hole offers the perfect antidote to the hot summer sun, and has proved to be a popular spot at the site.
Grab a picnic or a glass of wine and sit back by the ponds enjoying the water and the views! The water is cleaned by the reeds and tested regularly.
Please note that while we have taken precautions to keep you safe, swimming is undertaken at your own risk and children MUST be supervised when in and around the water.
